I announced "an experiment in social media marketing" by promoting A Copywriter's Blues trough a support group on Facebook, and trough a heavy online action.

In the meantime, I have published a post about that on News & Riflessioni and two posts on music here. All three have been heavily prometed with the support of friends on other blogs and on social bookmarking as well as on microblogging services

Now it's time to show the first results.

So far, the A Copywriter's Blues group has gathered 235 users in one week, which is to be considered a pretty good result, as of my over 700 contacts on Facebook over 60% is Italian, and most Italians are in holiday during the whole month of August.

No good news. In spite of the heavy promotion I've done, and even if August isn't though yet, it doesn't seems like the figures will be much better than the previous months.

I also started a new Google Analytics account for A Copywriter's Blues:

What it shows (but don't forget that Google Analytics is much tighter than all other stats programs) is:

• 215 visitors (not evan all of the group's users visited the blog) • 186 unique visitors
• 365 page views
• 87.32% new visitors
• 64.32% bounce rate
• Most visitors are from the USA

Quite discouraging, at first sight, apart from the huge data difference between StatCounter.com and Google Analytics, and also considering that a good percentage of accesses is aimed in seing or recovering the images I show, and no attention whatsoever is paid to the text.

Is it the best I can do?
