Iron Butterfly: In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida

I first saw it on a record catalogue I found in a shop in Lugano, Switzerland, fall of 1967, seeking for new albums to buy. The usual unknowns, I thought.

Iron Butterfly as a name, that sounded heavy. But in 1967 the term "Heavy Metal" didn't existed yet. And the album's title, "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida", didn't ment much to me either.

What really seemed interesting was that a single song occupied a whole face. I liked long suites, rather than the usual 3 minutes songs.

So I bought it, and... Surprise!
